Ceremonial swearing in planned for new Broward legislators

a ceremonial swearing in ceremony for newly elected state legislators from broward is planned for sunday. it pass on honor state sens. chris smith and eleanor sobel, both of whom served in the florida brothel before term limits forced them to leave office and who were elected this year to the upper chamber, and state reps. gwyndolen clarke-reed and hazelle rogers. the event is at 5:30 p.m. at the african american research library and cultural center, 2650 sistrunk blvd., fort lauderdale. appraise carole taylor of the 4th district court of appeals will officiate. speakers include county commissioner stacy ritter, state sen. jeremy ring and state rep. perry thurston.
