Pitchfork.tv: One Week Only: Kick That Habit
Have you ever watched a movie and wondered why punching the bad guy sounded like a t-bone steak being smacked against a table? Well, that’s the delicate art of foley at work, and it’s this fundamental disconnect between sound and image in viagra film that director Peter Liechti explores in his strange 1989 work, Kick That Habit. A series of visual treatments of his home in Eastern Switzerland, Habit is a collage of natural scenery and staged performances that examines how our two primary senses, the visual and the auditory, interact with and influence one another.
