Out of Lucci on ‘Dancing’
The soap star who has had a career-long history with disappointment was voted off “Dancing with the Stars” Wednesday.
Susan Lucci may have been ordered by judge Carrie Ann Inaba to face the audience Monday and say “I did well” to instill some confidence in her. But home viewers didn’t agree.
Seven weeks was a pretty long run on the dance show for Lucci, 62, whose age was eclipsed for weeks by Cloris Leachman, 82, eliminated last week.
She was the last one standing in the results show pre-empted a day by presidential election results, with the youngest celeb, Cody Linley, who was at the bottom of the judges’ roster this week because of a low individual score added to the show’s first team score - a cha cha that got a substantially lower score than the other. Lucci was also on that losing team.

Lucci’s fame as Erica Kane on “All My Children” also meant she had the longest string of nominations for a daytime Emmy - 19 years - before she finally won one in 1999.
One of several contestants to suffer a leg injury this year Lucci said “It was definitely worth it. I have to say I had the most incredible experience here.”
Next week, the remaining five dancers will each have a spot for something else new to the show, an individual dance.
