hey hey! the last twenty-four hours maintain been an emotional roller coaster for me - yet i’m maddening to remain positive and cheerful - i’d choose not go into the gory details but basically something went down yesterday that was out of my control - i’m not a big fan of change - and regrettably interchange has arrived - succeeding forward i’m going to attire my pleased reputation on and do what needs to be done - which is really the only dingus i can do! luckily my pal tara just sent me a copy of the newly download animation movie released video competition afro samurai for my xbox (it’s also available on ps3) and it has helped immensely to take my mind off things - the nervy is incredibly fun and super bloody (check out the trailer under along with some pictures) i’ve been slashing nasty ninjas left and pronto with my trusty sword - the graphics are amazing and the amusement play is really smooth coupled with it features the voices of samuel l. jackson, ron pearlman and kelly hu (it’s inspired by the mechanical show of the verbatim at the same time name which airs on spiketv) i totally needed a break from my preoccupation with fallout 3 and this game has been a revival change of pace (now i do like change i fancy - exchange i can control) if you’re itching through despite a new nervy (since there hasn’t been much exposed lately) i highly recommend picking this one up - this should hopefully achat viagra tide me over until the reveal release of resident evil 5! popbytes done with & out for right now…xoxo

Microsoft On Windows 7 UAC Security Hole: “This is Not a Vulnerability” [Windows 7]

Google Execs Face Jail Time for Offensive Video

According to the New York Times, four Google executives are facing criminal charges - which might result in jail time - because of an offensive video posted on Google Video in 2006.

The video in question depicts four youths teasing a kid with Down syndrome. After getting complaints about the video from an Italian advocacy group, Google removed the video. However, prosecutors are claiming the video should never have been published, and are directly suing four executives: David Drummond, Google’s senior vice president and chief legal officer; George Reyes, Google’s former chief financial officer, Peter Fleischer, Google’s global privacy counsel, and a fourth unidentified Google employee.

Here’s the interesting part: if they are proclaimed guilty, they are facing jail time, although none of them had directly handled the video in question. This makes the case odd at best: we’re not talking about war crimes and command responsibility; we’re talking about four employees of a company that has its policies and has acted according to them.

Google has quickly issued a statement regarding the case:

“As we have repeatedly made clear, our hearts go out to the victim and his family. We are pleased that as a result of our cooperation the bullies in the video have been identified and punished. We feel that bringing this case to court is totally wrong. It’s akin to prosecuting mail service employees for hate speech letters sent in the post. What’s more, seeking to hold neutral platforms liable for content posted on them is a direct attack on a free, open Internet. We will continue to vigorously defend our employees in this prosecution.”

I wholeheartedly agree with their point of view. If the executives in question haven’t broken any laws or policies, or had anything to do with the offensive video, suing them and possibly sending them to jail is preposterous.

Whether Google should change its policies and actively monitor all content before being posted on sites such as Google Video or YouTube, is another matter; in that sense, this case could have broad implications for all content sharing websites. An often used argument, which I agree with, is that it’s virtually impossible and against the nature of the internet to monitor all content before it gets posted anywhere.
