MQS, flowers and fun

this is my improve on the mqs casket. i’m mere pleased with it thus very much. basically, this is one cut off (unicorn) and one side (scrolls and mary) of the base of the casket. next up is a lion…or maybe a griffin…it’s strange looking for the sake of confident. i’m hoping to make proof progress on it during stitch night tomorrow night. there’s smooth beads and a few crystals to add to the chunk, and i can’t wait to conceive of what a punch they give it.

i’m thoroughly confused by my hydrangias this year. we planted nine along the back side of our dynasty three years ago. this particular variety is called “endless summer”. they are supposed to bloom from june to october. i read a lot about them before we purchased and planted and while you can buy pink or purpleish suggestive, the color they change depends on your soil. i not ever thought that our soil would be so weird that we’d get both colors prospering. i think it’s mellifluous wilful, but i’ve not in any way seen or heard of this happening before…..it’s a miracle! : )

this is a attempt of one side of the tub and all the famous flowers. my hostas are threatening to pass the bed and we may have to do a bit of cleaning out this fall away. the same thing is planted on the other side, but all the tall orange flowers (don’t know what they are) aren’t as tall on the other side yet. you can see a pair amicable of to the pink of marc’s head, but a couple others are esoteric by the chemical bottles.

Last night I finished up the fourth block (Ice Cream) of Sweet Treats. I’m ready for the next block and then just one more after that and it’s done…yahoo! I’m going to be on the lookout for a picnic basket with a lid that opens straight up and not side to side.

Tonight I’ve got to shop for Megan’s birthday gift, which is tomorrow and had completely slipped my radar even though it’s noted on the calendar. I can’t believe she’s going to be 22 and graduating in December! She will be the first grandchild to complete college and as the others (except for Gianna) are in their 30’s….probably the only until Gianna. Megan is driving in from Columbia tomorrow afternoon and she’ll be going out to eat with her parents and Nana. I’ll see her after stitch night to give her presents and then Friday morning they leave for Branson. We were invited, but to me…it’s boring. There’s not a lot to do there and the town rolls up the red carpet at 9:00. Marc’s band is playing Friday night and we’ve got dinner plans with two other couples on Saturday night…..bring on the weekend!

I’m going to decorate for July 4th this weekend and try to get a menu finalized for our party. Other than that, we’re trying to stay out of the humid air and keep the grass green. Gas was at $3.89 this morning and we’re grateful that we can ride together most days!

Looking ahead we’ve got multiple trips going on this summer and fall to St. Louis, Chicago, Memphis, Dallas, Estes Park and possibly Mexico for Thanksgiving. Gianna’s agent has been in close contact and there are three companies putting together proposals….hopefully they will all be appropriate for her and us and she can begin earning her keep! ; )
