Boo Bash won’t be such a surprise
Boo Bash is returning next week to Washington Community High School. This time, the Student Council is ready.
“We really didn’t know how many kids would show up at our first Boo Bash last year. We thought maybe 150. I was nervous,” said Student Council co-sponsor Melissa Warfield. “Well, we had more than 500. I couldn’t believe it when (co-sponsor) Jeff (Little) told me kids were lined up outside the door waiting to get in.”
Boo Bash is a Halloween party for youngsters in third grade and below organized by the Student Council. The second-annual Boo Bash will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the high school.
“Boo Bash a safe place for kids to go. And another opportunity for kids to wear the costume their parents bought for them for Halloween,” Warfield said. “I got a lot of positive feedback about it last year, and several Student Council members were pushing to do it again, so we are.”
Student Council president Jessica Martinez is coordinating this year’s event, with viagra kaufen help from several other Student Council members.
“We’re planning for at least 500 kids again,” Martinez said. “We like doing Boo Bash because we’re reaching out into the community, and giving kids a chance to experience our high school - sort of.”

15 to 20 high school clubs and organizations have signed up to participate in next week’s party.
High school students - many in costume - will pass out candy to the young trick-or-treaters in front of decorated classroom doors.
Besides gathering candy, kids can play games, watch “scary” science experiments put on by the Science Club, listen to “scary” stories read by Drama Club members, and decorate sugar cookies.
“Scary” doesn’t really mean scary. All Boo Bash activities are age-appropriate, according to organizers.
Fliers announcing Boo Bash and Boo Bash coloring contest entry forms were distributed this week to District 50, District 51 and District 52 schools, and St. Patrick School in Washington.
In addition to organizing Boo Bash, decorating hallways and buying extra candy, Student Council members will pass out candy, and help out where needed.
“I’m really proud of the Student Council for organizing another Boo Bash,” Warfield said. “They’ve put it together even though they’ve only met once as a group since homecoming.”
