Selectmen may sign contract with GATRA on Monday

           Selectman Hilary Wilson, along with Town Administrator Edwin Thorne, met with representatives of the Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA), Tuesday to continue a discussion about implementing GATRA services in Pembroke.

For the past few months, Wilson has met GATRA officials to discuss the possibility of bringing in the bus service, a program that would allow the town to utilize a bus system to escort residents around town. Currently the town pays $116,000 towards a yearly MBTA assessment. By bringing in GATRA, Pembroke could actually make use of a bus system in town acheter Cialis, rather than wasting money on the state’s fee each year.

To start, GATRA will manage the Council on Aging’s existing bus service, but by bringing in the program the town will actually be able to put the money to good use and try and develop its own bus system in town.

Wilson and Thorne were accompanied by members of the Council on Aging last Tuesday alternativ cialis, when the tried to devise a contract with GATRA.

Although nothing has been finalized, Wilson will be bringing the contract to the Board of Selectmen Monday, seeking their approval.

“Hopefully they will go along with it,” said Wilson. “All these others things will flow from that. If we get a new contract that would save us money but that’s something has to be worked out down the line.”
