offer hospitality to to hump day, pyt’s newest feature. every week we’ll profile a tasty bit of ogle candy from television or the silver telly. this week- sarah shahi, celebrity of “life.”

damian lewis- best known for playing lt. daniel winters in hbo’s unforgettable miniseries band of brothers- is quite the best reason to watch “life” on nbc. it’s a cop show with a quirky lead, and a twist- lewis plays detective david cruise, an l.a. cop who was framed, and spent 9 years in prison preceding the time when being exonerated. after a lawsuit he’s the money and back on the force, driving a gnx, a maserati or whatever he wants.

his partner is captivating sarah shahi, defeat known from “the l word” and she’s hardly as hot here. i’m not sure her acting chops are from head to toe up to lewis’s or settle donal logue’s (the tao of steve)- he plays their superior. but i don’t really care. she slinks through every frame and does a good enough job, completely believable as a tv cop. no worse than j-lo was in soderbergh’s absent from of identify. and she guaranteed is easy on the eyes. born aahoo jahansouz shahi in texas, of iranian and spanish descent, i can think of no better reason not to follow discretion with iran.

the show follows a recipe- every adventure they solve a strange murder, but the bigger story- cruise figuring out who fly at b put out him up, and getting justice- advanced with every single episode, even if it’s at an inchworm’s gauge. that makes it a lot easier to watch than well-proportioned ol’ “lost,” whose story branches like capillaries. lewis is great for quirky comical relief, and his zen-like state amuses without getting silly like monk’s dozen phobias. adan arkin- son of alan, and play of puerile ’80s movies fellow quite moon lavish- plays cruise’s sidekick, an embezzler and cell mate from clink who handles his finances, and lends a surprising amount of charm in his elder years.

but plenty of that, take a good look at sarah shahi and go watch over the show. and girls, stare deep into lewis’s ice blue eyes and conquered yourself. i find it hard-nosed not to myself.
