AFA Wants Us To Know We Are Going To Hell
Normally, people love it when other people link to their websites because it means they get more attention, more traffic, and their message reaches more people,. But the American Family Association has apparently decided that it doesn’t want the kind of attention our Right Wing Watch blog has been sending their way..
The other day we noticed that all of our links back to the AFA’s OneNewsNow website no longer take readers to the link in question, but instead redirect them to the Good Person Test (go ahead and click the OneNewsNow link above or any of these other links to see what we mean.)
So instead of being taken to a specific OneNewsNow article, our readers are directed to a website that challenges them to take a quiz to determine if they are indeed a “good person.” Not surprisingly, the answer is “no” and that they are in fact going to hell.
Answer a question about honesty and you are told you are a liar; answer a question about lust and you are told you are an adulterer; answer a question about anger and you are told you are a murderer:

And don’t think of trying to fool the test either, because if you claim to have never stolen, been angry, dishonest, lustful, or taken the Lord’s name in vain, it calls you a liar:
James hook lobster
levitra rezeptfrei
The end result of the quiz is the reassuring affirmation that you do, in fact, deserve to go straight to hell:

We’ve noticed that this special redirecting service is something AFA seems to have reserved for Right Wing Watch, because, for example, Street Prophets excerpted one of our posts the other day that included a link to a OneNewsNow article that, from their blog, takes readers to the article quoting Gary Bauer whereas those clicking through from our post get redirected.
So until AFA removes this clever little redirect, we’ll just have to stop linking to them because there is no way we’ll ever be able to figure out some sort of work-around.

Time for a new chairman for the Idaho Republican Party
(bryan fischer) - the seemliness of kirk sullivan to maintain as the chairman of the idaho republican party has again been called into uncertainty by time-breaking developments in the principal campaign as a service to state legislative seats in district 21. sullivan’s reaction to this and other issues betrays the kind of elitism that is sabotaging the republican cabal at the national level, and is right away stirring deep discontent among the bust-up faithful in idaho…

Host Joanne Colan Leaves Rocketboom [Vlogs]

according to a source at the creative artists activity, host joanne colan is leaving rocketboom, one of the internet’s at the outset bulging news videoblogs. during her tenure, colan not under any condition managed to transform the show (directed by creator andrew baron) from a quirky but inscrutable cult favorite into a mainstream online news source. (see for yourself below by watching today’s weird episode.) nor did she achieve the same web illustriousness as her forebear amanda congdon, who left a appointment with abcnews.com last year.
No news yet on whether Baron will try to hire a third host for his show, which would mean the show had as many hosts as it’s had paying advertisers.

‘Indiana Jones’ and the computer-generated jungle
In these hallowed halls, Indiana Jones almost seems out of place.
A banner with a two-dimensional cutout of the swashbuckling archaeologist swings through the lobby of Industrial Light and Magic, where life-size replicas of Darth Vader and Bobba Fett from “Star Wars” stand guard.
The home of George Lucas’ visual effects company is a high-tech temple to everything from the dinosaurs in “Jurassic Park” to the talking robots in “Transformers.” But Indy can’t take credit for the digital wizardry for which ILM has become famous over the last couple of decades.
Not yet, anyway. That’s because he hasn’t been around for 19 years, a time in which special effects has mostly migrated from soundstage to server.
The first three Indy films were gritty, sweaty and tactile affairs, largely because everything onscreen physically existed somewhere. Not so with “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” - though that was almost the case.

Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: - Game 7: The Paul Pierce Game
I went and shot around after this game and the adrenaline carried me for about 15 minutes. I’m a mediocre shooter at best. And I hit at least two three pointers from 30 feet. I was throwing in deep baseball shots and all sorts of fall aways as well. Then I crashed back down the earth. I was spent. How can a basketball game take that much out of a person watching at home? If I were at the game I would have stumbled out of there in a daze.
Paul Pierce had one of the biggest games of his career. He shot 56% from the floor and 91% from the line. On top of that he had 5 boards, 4 assists and 2 steals. And those assists don’t account for the two times he got Leon Powe to the line. He was dialed in and even called the final 3 minutes the toughest 3 minutes of his life. Keep in mind the fact that he was brutally stabbed once and almost died. I’m assuming he’s completely blocked that out. He also took advantage of the shooter’s role and then some.
Eddie House had 4 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal and a turnover in just under 15 minutes of time. Yet he led the team in +/- (+13). And the hustle play where he dove to save a ball going out of bounds, passing it directly to Posey in the process, was downright awesome.
P.J. Brown had 10 points (4-4 from the field), 6 rebounds and some hard fouls in 20 minutes of time. He also hit arguably the biggest jumper in the game.
In related news is anyone else as completely and utterly confused by Doc Rivers’ substitution patterns, or lack thereof, as I am? For example Glen Davis had one big game on the road in Detroit. Will he be the first big off the bench?
Home court matters.
I was going to run a “Witness LeBron going home” style post or something along those lines if the Celtics won. But I have to give him credit. He’s a remarkable basketball player. If he improves his post game, does not have to work as hard on offense and ever gets the right assortment of teammates around him he won’t be seeing too many more game 7s. He’s that good.
I swear James Posey did a solid job on LeBron earlier in the series. That was not the case tonight. He couldn’t stay in front of him.
I’m a little nervous about how hard Boston had to work in this one.
For all the talk about the officials I think it’s safe to say those things even out over time.
Home court matters.
Jeff Van Gundy may get bored in blow out games. And his attempts at humor are painful at times. But when he’s dialed in I learn a lot. He straight up knows the game of basketball.
Delonte West missed a huge shot that could have tied it. And his 6 turnovers take some luster off of his 15 points and 5 assists. Still today provided indisputable proof that there is plenty of fight in West. He was one of the players that was not afraid.
Nice job by House, Pierce and Ray Allen, as they went a combined 6-6 from the line down the stretch.
Let’s talk Pistons tomorrow. Until then enjoy it…

A Disgrace Bai Any Measure
The New York Times Magazine is running a long profile by political reporter Matt Bai on John McCainâs foreign policy vision this weekend. Although the story of McCainâs foreign policy expertise and record is sufficiently sterling that even the Times has a hard time sliming him, itâs not for lack of trying.
In particular, the articleâs treatment of the surge is a real piece of work. Bai declares that the surge is â?unpopular with a lot of military leadersâ–a blanket assertion that then wafts away. He also declares the Iraqi security forces a failure, citing as his single piece of evidence that â?some 1,000 Iraqi troops deserted during a crucial battle in Basra.â (Apparently, he didnât see the front page of his paper on Monday, which reported that â?forces loyal to Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al Malikiâ have since â?largely quieted the city, to the initial surprise and growing delight of many inhabitants,â and that â?the principal factor for improvement that people in Basra cite is the deployment of 33,000 members of the Iraqi security forces.â Whoops.)
Against these authoritative generalities on the part of the author, McCain is the only source Bai cites to defend or explain the surge. In his 8,000-plus word magnum opus, Bai never gets around to mentioning, for instance, the 90-plus percent reduction in violence in Baghdad the surge brought about, or its success at routing al Qaeda in Iraq from parts of the country that had once been declared â?lostâ to the jihadists.
Rocawear
These are not exactly minor details, given that it was in no small measure such hard proof of the surgeâs success that propelled John McCain to the Republican nomination, vindicating his national security acumen and illustrating precisely why he is qualified to be the next commander-in-chief–subjects that a reporter, writing a profile of John McCainâs foreign policy vision, might want to mention.
Baiâs most despicable little dig, though, comes in the form of the following passive aggressive parenthetical, as McCain explains Americaâs progress against al Qaeda in Iraq:
â?Is it long and hard and tough? Yes,â McCain told me. â?Has Al Qaeda been beaten? No, but they certainly have been diminished.â (To the dismay of many of his critics, McCain often uses â?Al Qaedaâ as a shorthand for the Iraqi insurgent group that calls itself Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia.)
Ah yes, the famed â?Iraqi insurgent groupâ that just happens to â?call itself Al Qaeda in Mesopotamiaâ! This, of course, would also be the same â?Iraqi insurgent groupâ that is led by non-Iraqi foreign fighters; that has pledged allegiance to Osama bin Laden; that receives direction and support from Ayman al Zawahiri and other al Qaeda senior leadership; and that–according to a recent National Intelligence Estimate–is al Qaeda centralâs â?most capable affiliateâ and â?the only one known to have expressed a desire to attack the Homeland.â
Itâs easy to see how â?dismayedâ John McCainâs critics must be at him suggesting some sort of close relationship between the groups! One can only wonder who, exactly, John McCain might have picked up this dangerous and deeply misinformed â?shorthandâ from. One possibilityâ¦
“As you can see, we’ve reduced considerably the areas in which Al Qaida enjoys support and sanctuary, though clearly there is more to be done. Having noted that progress, Al Qaida is still capable of lethal attacks.” â”General David Petraeus, testifying before Senate Armed Services Committee on April 8, 2008

Google to take over Sprint’s deck and beyond
Filed under: Software, Sprint

even Steven as android hums advantageous along, google’s still not shy about pursuing every other conceivable side to belittle over the mobile space, proving that it’s one of the more platform-agnostic companies in the biz. the latest partnership comes with sprint, where the carrier’s substance deck order be retooled to partake of google for search — a change that’ll affect current devices, undeniable — but what’s more, sprint will start offering home process search on some of its devices starting later this year (windows versatile-based ones, if we had to guess). also in value are preloaded google maps and youtube, two of the more popular mobile destinations in the game at the moment. going forward, the twosome “will continue to enquire into ways to require users with compelling mobile experiences and more application choices,” so expect google’s future on-device offerings to be pretty easy to access from your sprint weapon of choice — not to about it’s usually very hard to begin with.[via mobileburn]read permalink email this comments
