SHIJIAZHUANG, Mar 30, 2006 — Six people were killed and six more injured on Thursday in a furnace explosion at an iron mill in Tangshan City, North China’s Hebei Province. Sources from the relevant government department of Tangshan City said the explosion happened around 9 a.m.

SHIJIAZHUANG, Mar 30, 2006 (Xinhua via COMTEX) — Six people were killed and six more injured on Thursday in a furnace explosion at an iron mill in Tangshan City, North China’s Hebei Province.
Sources from the relevant government department of Tangshan City said the explosion happened around 9 a.m. from the top of a 450-meter-high furnace of the iron mill, which belongs to the Guofeng Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. located in Fengnan District of Tangshan City.
The injured have no life danger and are hospitalized.
Production at the iron mill has returned to normal.
Cause of the explosion is being investigated.
The iron mill is a large joint-stock entity that does business ranging from sintering, iron-smelting to steel and rolled metal making.
