Rhetorical Flourishes

Rhetorical flourishes is the phrase for today.  Barack Obama used that term today when trying to explain away Joe Biden’s promise to voters “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”   Obama sluffed off the comment when questioned about it, saying Joe Biden is prone to rhetorical flourishes.Can we apply that same phrase, rhetorical flourishes, to an article entitled “Shame on McCain and Palin for using an old code word for black” by Lewis W. Diuguid, Kansas City Star editorial page columnist?  What was that word  Diuguid was referring to?  Socialism!  The American Thinker provides Diuguid’s attempt at a logical syllogism. Socialism is (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.  In Obama’s words to Joe the Plumber, “sharing the wealth.”

A caller on Tennessee talk radio today asked, “What is socialism?”  The host answered, “Socialism is when someone who has more is forced to give part of what he owns to someone who has less.”  So the caller responds, “What’s wrong with that?”  Now here is the host’s reply:”In Christianity, those who are blessed with much are encouraged to give to those less fortunatel.  It is their choice, they can give if they want to of their own possessions. In socialism, the government takes whatever it wants to from you, and gives whatever portion of that it deems fit to others.  If you have a pizza and I don’t, in socialism the government will take part of your pizza away from you and give it to me.“    To which the caller said, “Well, that’s not right.“  No that’s not right, that’s Left, that’s socialism, that’s wrong.Barack Obama is for socialism and he is already viagra kaufen ohne rezept making plans as if he has already won the election, saying he has a “righteous wind at his back.”  He has been doing everything he can to look as if he is already President of the United States, including being filmed in a room with a group of people that appears to be presidential cabinet meeting.This is the same man who tried to convince people that his connection to William Ayers was at 8 years old.  Not so, on September 2008 while talking to Bill O’Reilly, Obama said, “I haven’t seen the guy in a year-and-a-half.”  That’s not rhetorical flourishes, that the TRUTH.Obama says he has no connections to ACORN and that ACORN is just a group trying to encourage people to get out and vote.  In fact, Obama worked with ACORN, gave money to ACORN, ACORN gets tax dollars, ACORN has been using tax dollars to encourage people to vote for Barack Obama — and an internal report by the community organizing group Acorn expresses concern about whether the relationships among its affiliates led to violations of federal laws.
