Bush finally reveals his religious “crusade” with 4 days to go.

I listened to W’s farewell talk last night and had to go to WH.gov to get the actual text. I couldn’t believe that after 7 years of occupation in a devoutly Muslim nation, that this president or his advisors could still not understand the power of implied “Crusade-speak” yet there it was.

This paragraph was included in his speech Cialis-

The battles waged by our troops are part of a broader struggle between two dramatically different systems. Under one, a small band of fanatics demands total obedience to an oppressive ideology, condemns women to subservience, and marks unbelievers for murder. The other system is based on the conviction that freedom is the universal gift of Almighty God, and that liberty and justice light the path to peace.

Let’s analyze this from the viewpoint of a Muslim, shall we?

1) Both Islam and Christianity are “belief systems” - one is good, the other is bad (M’Kay?)

2) Freedom is a gift of the Christian “Almighty God” (note the caps which occur in the original text from the White House) Allah gave his followers no such “Gift” as he is not a true deity.

3) The “Light the path” quote was particularly meaningful - The Koran Viagra is replete with references (too numerous to cite here) to Allah being the “path to Peace” and “the light”. His speech not only implies the opposite, but makes clear that (in his view) following Allah is a path to war.

If W ad made this speech 7 years ago it would have been directly responsible for more deaths. Thankfully, there are only 4 1/2 more days to go.
