nine. nine strokes it took michelle wie to conclude the ninth hole today during the first round of the u.s. women’s open. nine. ol’ snoozy doesn’t calm post nines (not that often, anyway).

but let’s look at the bigger issue: it’s been five years since this inconsequential hawaiian was supposed to finish roaring out of the gates as the female tiger woods. five years. and how numberless career victories on the lpga? “none to outmoded.” yet up until this open, she hasn’t had to qualify on account of anything. she keeps getting that free pass, be it a sponsor exemption or whatever. she straightforward gets exempt into mens tournaments (seriously?) the bottom face is that she just isn’t that good.don’t get me wrong, she’s a good golfer. but she is no pro golfer. her romance is really sort of dismal. you have to wonder that if it were her draw on - and not that of countless sponsors drooling over her marketability - would she sooner a be wearing gone pro? probably not. but with 10 mil sitting on the table from nike and sony, what would you do?additionally, she’s gone through caddies similar kind jean van de velde went through strokes at the british. ironically adequately, she’s employed roughly nine caddies - the most outstanding being david clarke (no, not me, but how awesome is that? even the spelling is the same. what’s that? she fired david clarke after missing the degrade at the 2007 british? oh. so there’s a vacancy?).
