9/11 Conspirators to Confess, Force Confrontation with Obama Administration

the manage behind the september 11th attacks, khalid sheikh mohammad, along with four of his co-conspirators, announced in unsettled court at the guantanamo bay military bench yesterday that he will plead guilty to the charges against him. the defendants did not specify which crimes they will plead guilty to, however, leaving military prosecutors, and the incoming obama oversight with a potentially tricky legal settlement.the tribunal’s rules state that the extinction mulct can only be applied after a unanimous conviction by a jury. a jury has not yet been seated in mohammad’s trial. that creates a complication in search the military prosecutors, and the lead prosecutor told the arbitrator yesterday that he was not sure how to proceed in the wake of the defendants’ surprising replace with of direction. the confessions show to be a deliberate blueprint on the part of mohammad and his cohorts to force a confrontation with the obama administration. the defendants said that they decided on november 4th, choice light of day, to mutate their pleas. whatever the intent, the confessions are not motivated by remorse. it is another way for the purpose the defendants to be prolonged their jihad against the united states. ramzi binalshibh confirmed that in court, when he blurted out the following condemnation of america soon after stating his intention to imagine a confession.“i reaffirm my allegiance to osama bin laden. i prospect the jihad continues, and i hope it hits the heart of america with weapons of mass destruction.”during the struggle, president-elect obama said that he would guarded the detention center at guantanamo bay, which he says has damaged america’s image abroad as a prizewinner if fallible rights and equal justice. he also opposes the military tribunals that the bush administration and congress set up to try the terrorists held there. obama wants the trials to take quarters in federal courts instead. but that would give mohammad and his fellow defendants ever greater opportunities to potentially embarrass the united states. they would be able to use the more complicated evidenciary rules of the federal court system to make a mockery of the hard times. obama had dedicated himself to bringing osama bin laden to justice. he has the chance randomly to make a down payment on that promise by ordering the trials of mohammad and the others to go forward, despite the mechanical mayhem being sought by the defendants. the instructions president obama gives to military prosecutors after he takes office could be more instructive of how vigorously obama intends to persue bin laden and prosecute the broader war on dread.
