LOS FELIZ: Looking over listings this week, the real estate market still feels really schizophrenic. Some prices are dropping, but then there are listing like this one: This “cheerful white picket fence bungalow at the foot of the Oaks” is nice, but the two-bedroom, one-bath home (1,333 square feet) is listed at $899,000. That seems expensive for what looks to be one of those old Sears’ kit homes, but what do we know? [Redfin]

BEVERLY HILLS: Surely there’s a good story behind this listing–it looks to be an epic failure of a spec house. Via the listing: “Bank owned! 2008 construction 3-story gated estate on huge flat lot w/ great city views in prime Beverly Hills. Luxurious interior features six bedroom…Grand entry with 22′ ceilings, professional cook’s kitchen with top-notch appliances open to family room.” At $7.69 million, it’s one of the more expensive REOS to come across the MLS. HANCOCK PARK: Remember that Sycamore Avenue home that was owned by actor Christopher Lloyd? Doesn’t seem like the $1.3 million asking price worked out, because it’s back to the past. As oppose to the future. A little shave brings it down to $1.229 million. [Redfin]

LA CANADA: Architect John Lautner’s Gantvoort Residence on Hampstead Road in La Canada Flintridge came on the market this summer listed at $2.2 million. It already underwent a meaty hack, dropping to $1.791 million, and now it’s fallen again to $1.595 million. Someone please go buy it to put it out of its misery.
