Today begins Great Powers’ first full week of sales

officially, my first full week starts today and slope through saturday. all the books sold to date get piled into this first full week, Non-Standard thusly the advantage of starting matrix thursday and as follows the advantage of any advance sales. so, if any readers were contemplating purchases, now is the time to type them. if you sympathy about buying additional copies for friends or anybody you know who would like the libretto, now is the just the same from time to time to make them. seldom is the time to send emails to anybody you know who you think would be interested in a book like this. now is the time to talk the leader of your company into buying a dozen copies for all the senior execs who impecuniousness this mid-business teaching-in-a-book. now is the time to fire off that copy to the person in your assembly who sets up talks by outsiders. people order often ask, what can i do to help spread the vision? well, it doesn’t get much easier than right once in a blue moon. if you father a blog, use it. if you’re on twitter, tweet it. wherever you roam, take advantage. people are unceasingly telling me that i should do as much as possible to spread this word. well, i do. i a postal card non-stop. i keep up a grueling chauvinistic and international make a trip sked, giving some talks into great money but a whole masses more for not so much and plenty for condemn near nothing. i give these talks mostly to military installations because i know they don’t oblige much money and anyway i think it’s an important thing to do–important enough to be away from my kind a bit more than half the year. this isn’t here making me any more in, because–honestly–it won’t. it’s about keeping the work in a unquestionable category of respect which allows opportunities to spread it help. you come to this blog and find tons of stuff everyday. i take a whacking big chunk of my light of day to pretend it happen, and then pay sean to hold it all rolling and neat and organized. i beat up some big early sales and i’ll lay one’s hands on a bonus from putnam, which will be enough to pay sean for around a year. that’s how i keep this enterprise rolling while being the unique provider for six-going-on-seven (we’re just sending our dossier to kazakhstan). do not send ideas of what to do. between sean and my two jenns and my two steves and everybody at putnam, we are looking under every attainable rock and making every tenable cialis bestellen supplicate for request of. if you have an idea, feigning on it yourself. because these are the seven days to make it happen. i am not an prearranged control. i am not particularly well-connected. i don’t get the automatic pass. and as until now as the establishment is concerned, i have not in a million years belonged. i am just too unconventional, too showy, too iconoclastic, too not like them. it is my audience that grants me all credentials–all these invites to speak, all those links to posts, all the word-spreading acts. you guys made me with the first book and you’ve invested a consignment in me since. now it is convenience life to cash in on that investment. i put everything i had into making this book prosper, and it does. and it’s well-timed. and it’s much-needed in these dark days. so assistant me at liberty here again.

the intel consumer ssds ? the x18m and x25m ? are fast, they have been challenged countless times on test bench, but the result remained the same, it’s still one of the best performance mlc nand outburst based ssd series available. but 80gb of storage duration barely cut it, a full installation of adobe master suite is already taken up 10gb, not counting your os and other apps, and let’s not mention the $595 price tag.

But good news for enthusiasts seek out quality than quantity, the 80Gb super spinner is now more affordable. Intel has recently cutting the price down by 34 percent, the 2.5-inch form factor mobile drive is only $390 (more discount from newegg), while the 160GB gets price break from $945 to $765.

India took an unassailable 3-0 lead in their one-day series in Sri Lanka with an emphatic 147-run in Colombo.

Virender Sehwag (116) and Yuvraj Singh (117) each hit 17 fours in a superb stand of 221 from 28 overs as India amassed 363-5 after choosing to bat.

Muttiah Muralitharan, in his 327th match, took his 502nd one-day wicket to equal the record held by Wasim Akram.

But it was the only consolation for the home side, and Sanath Jayasuriya fell first ball as they were 216 all out.

Muralitharan is already way ahead as the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket, with 769 from 125 matches.

But even he was unable to contain India’s third-wicket pair, conceding 60 from his 10 overs as the tourists laid the foundation for their eighth successive victory in limited overs internationals.

Sachin Tendulkar made a spectacular start after Mahendra Dhoni won the toss, stepping down the pitch to slam a free hit off the bowling of Dilhara Fernando over long-on for six in the second over, but was was given out lbw five balls later.

Form 1040 instructions

Gautam Gambhir was dropped on nought by Thilina Kandamby at point in the next over, but his luck did not last long as a straight drive from Sehwag was deflected on to the stumps by bowler Fernando and the left-hander was stranded out of his ground.

Sehwag responded with three successive fours off Nuwan Kulasekara and Yuvraj adopted a similar approach as he smashed four boundaries in an over from Farveez Maharoof.

Sri Lanka turned to veteran all-rounder Jayasuriya to try and break the partnership, but he spilled a routine return catch when Sehwag had reached 80.

Yuvraj then launched Jayasuriya over long-on for a mammoth six as he beat Sehwag to three figures, although his 82-ball effort was seven more than his partner, who reached his hundred by dabbing Mendis to third man for two.

A woeful mis-field from Ajantha Mendis gifted a boundary to Yuvraj, but he finally fell to Murali’s next ball when he square cut straight to cover.

Sehwag’s majestic innings was ended by a superb direct hit from Jayasuriya at mid-off that left him well short as he pushed for a quick single.

His exit left India on 265-4 with 15 overs remaining but Yusuf Pathan reaced to fifty from only 33 balls, with three sixes, to leave the home side facing a huge task.

With Sri Lanka needing to score at 7.2 runs an over, they needed a big innings from Jayasuriya, playing his 430th one-day game.

But he tried to cut his first ball from seamer Praveen Kumar and only succeeded in edging it into his off stump.

Tillakaratne Dilshan pulled a four and six off successive balls off Kumar, but having reached 26 he too got an inside edge and saw his stumps shattered.

Kumar Sangakkara played some typically elegant shots, clipping a four off his pads and driving straight down the ground to the boundary in the same over from Zaheer Khan.

He was well supported by his captain, Mahela Jayawardene, who passed 8,000 ODI runs as he flicked three fours in the next over from Ishant Sharma.

But having shared 67 inside 10 overs with Sangakkara, Jayawardene mis-timed one to mid-off and departed for 30.

The main damage was done, however, by Pragyan Ojha, who spun the ball sharply as he worked his way through the middle order.

Ojha claimed the key wicket of Sangakkara, who spooned a pull shot to mid-wicket, and later had Murali caught behind first ball off the bottom edge to finish with 4-38.

A bad day for Sri Lanka ended with a mix-up between Mendis and last man Fernando, which resulted in the latter being run out after slipping with 8.2 overs of their innings still remaining.

The $713 billion plan was put together by Florida Sen. Mel Martinez, who has been working with a handful of other GOP senators.

The proposal includes $430 billion in tax cuts, $114 billion for infrastructure projects, $138 billion for extending unemployment insurance, food stamps and other provisions to help those in need and $31 billion to address the housing crisis.

The draft Martinez put together is a broader approach than what some GOP leaders have suggested.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republicans appear to want to limit the stimulus to tax cuts and addressing the housing crisis.

But the draft is more narrow than the Democrats’ plan because it eliminates spending on government programs that Republicans and some Democrats say shouldn’t be in the bill because they don’t create jobs.

Martinez has just started showing the plan to his colleagues, and it is too early to tell how much traction this idea will get among other lawmakers.

McConnell on Monday dismissed the idea that Republicans are trying to block passage of the economic stimulus plan.

"Nobody that I know of is trying to keep a package from passing," he said at a news conference Monday. "We’re trying to reform it."

The House last week passed an $819 billion stimulus bill without a single Republican vote, despite Obama’s efforts to work with both sides of the aisle.

The House version is two-thirds spending and one-third tax cuts.

Stephanie hogan

Of concern for Republicans has been how much of the money will be spent in the near future. An analysis released Monday by the Congressional Budget Office estimated the stimulus plan before the Senate would use 78 percent of the proposed funding (including the lost revenue from tax cuts) by the end of fiscal year 2010. Sixty-four percent of the House bill would be put to use during the same period, according to the report.

Don’t Miss

Much of the $550 billion in spending is divided among these areas: $142 billion for education, $111 billion for health care, $90 billion for infrastructure, $72 billion for aid and benefits, $54 billion for energy, $16 billion for science and technology and $13 billion for housing.

Republicans have blasted numerous measures in the package, such as funding for

The UConn men’s basketball team will be the No. 1 team in the country come Monday. The Huskies never looked more like it than on Saturday.Hasheem Thabeet recorded the program’s seventh triple-double, A.J. Price scored 19 points to reach 1,000 in his career and UConn ended years of frustration and climbing at Gampel Pavilion by simply decimating rival Providence College, 94-61, in front of a sell-out crowd of 10,167.Up just four points at halftime, the not-for-long No. 2 Huskies (20-1, 9-1 Big East) rode a dominant second-half performance by Thabeet past the Friars (14-7, 6-3), who hadn’t lost in Connecticut since February of 2005. This one may be hard to recover from.Thabeet finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and a program record-tying 10 blocks, just the 13th triple-double ever recorded in a Big East game. Price — admittedly hyped against a Providence team that embarrassed the Huskies twice last season — hit 8-of-12 shots and three 3 pointers, the second of which pushed him over a 1,000 during his time in Storrs. And perhaps the most important development, Stanley Robinson came alive after weeks of struggling to score 18 points with seven rebounds, finishing a flurry of plays with tough lay-ups and dunks. He had managed 16 combined points in his previous six games.“Welcome back,” UConn coach Jim Calhoun told the junior forward. The same to the Huskies, who with losses by top-ranked Duke (to No. 6 Wake Forest) and Wake Forest itself (to unranked Georgia Tech), appear to be the natural choice to be ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press poll on Monday. It’d mark the Huskies’ 26th week in the top spot since first earning it during the 1994-95 season and their first since March of 2006.They’ve won nine straight games — all in the Big East — to get there.“I think as a team collectively, we know how good we are, how good we can be,” Price said of the top spot, which four other teams have held in the last five weeks. “No. 1 hasn’t panned out for a lot of teams this year, but we haven’t been there yet. We haven’t had our chance.”They’ll quickly have to defend it, though; UConn visits No. 7 Louisville that night in a nationally-televised game.“It was only a couple short years ago we were No. 1 for a long time,” Calhoun said. “What is it? It’s just a number that goes by quickly. But if there are 343 teams playing in the country and at some point, someone said you’re the best team in the country … it’s nice. No more, no less.“Will I use that a little bit for the first time? I might use it,” he added. “You don’t want to be No. 1 for a day.”That’s if you don’t count Saturday, when the Huskies took away the Friars’ main strengths and capitalized on their own. The top-scoring team in Big East play entering the game, Providence shot 28.6 percent in the second half and finished shooting 5-for-19 from 3.The Friars, who had won three straight coming in, trailed, 38-34, after a back-and-forth first half. But UConn opened the second frame an 11-0 run, and never gave the Friars a second thought.“The kids turned the second half into kind of our show,” Calhoun said. They turned long rebounds into fast breaks, half-court opportunities into points and Providence into a foot-note. Up 64-51, UConn went on a demoralizing 20-0 run, no doubt part pay-back for Providence’s previous dominance in Connecticut, where it had won four straight.“Everything they did in the second half worked, whether it was offensively, defensively,” Providence coach Keno Davis said of UConn. “We got rattled. … And then when they did that, we got away from our game. We couldn’t forget about one play and go to the next one.”If the Friars did, Thabeet was there waiting. Nursing a sore shoulder he suffered against St. John’s, the junior took a little ribbing from Calhoun early — “Let’s operate right now,” the coach joked — and fed off it. He finished off his triple-double with 4 minutes, 57 seconds to play when he grabbed the first of two straight rebounds and laid in a lay-up to finish off UConn’s late-game run.“I wasn’t mad at that,” Thabeet said of Calhoun’s comment. “I was mad at myself that I couldn’t play through this little injury that I have. … But they thought because I had two f …
