people who are not familiar with the name khalil gibran even remotely click here..these are my deprecating favorites…friendshipyour friend is your needs answered.he is your sward which you sow with paramour and reap with thanksgiving.and he is your board and your fireside.for you come across to him with your hunger, and you search for him inasmuch as peace.when your friend speaks his mind you fear not the “nay” in your own mind, nor do you withhold the “ay.”and when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his middle;allowing for regarding without words, in brotherhood, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed.when you fragment from your pen-pal, you rue not;for that which you get a bang most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.and let out there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.for worship that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own obscurity is not brotherhood but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught.and let your best be for the sake of your friend.if he sine qua non recall the ebb of your tide, simulate him know its flood also.for what is your playmate that you should seek him with hours to kill?seek him eternally with hours to live.to it is his to fill your necessary, but not your emptiness.and in the sweetness of friendship let there be snickering, and sharing of pleasures.as a remedy for in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. the pulchritude of deathi have passed a mountain peak and my vital spirit is soaring in thevault of heaven of complete and unbound freedom;i am far, far away, my companions, and the clouds arehiding the hills from my eyes.the valleys are fetching flooded with an ocean of silence, and thehands of oblivion are engulfing the roads and the houses;the prairies and fields are disappearing behind a white specterthat looks like the spring cloud, yellow as the candlelightand red as the twilight.the songs of the waves and the hymns of the streamsare scattered, and the voices of the throngs reduced to silence;and i can hear naught but the music of eternityin thorough harmony with the spirit’s desires.i am cloaked in full whiteness;i am in comfort; i am in peace.you can be up to more of his poems here
