Happy New Year!

what a year!

With all the ups and downs of 2008 it was still an overall great year! Lots of fun was had and memories were made. We became smarter (yeah) and got older (boo) but overall it was good. Very good.Do I have any resolutions? Why, yes I do. Thanks for asking.Let’s see…Stop worrying about calories….I mean if you want wrinkles and gray hair…sitting around and fretting about everything that passes your tonsils will age you for sure. Indulge a bit and don’t freak out.Forget about having a perfectly clean house…what is the point of every single thing being put away before bed…it’s not worth the stress.Spend more time doing nothing…this is when the best ideas come.Take nothing for granted….here today, gone tomorrow is not just a fancy saying. And lastly…..enjoy life more…you only have one chance to get it right.I would also like to say thank you to everyone who comes by here and reads everyday. I have to say one of my biggest gifts of 2008 has been the outpouring of kindness and friendship I have discovered through this blog.I am amazed with the true community established by people who blog and those who read blogs. It’s funny to me how people are always speaking of internet weirdos, but what I have found in food, wine and family blogs are everyday people sharing their lives with others. It has been an enjoyable journey peaking into everyone’s kitchen’s, wine cellar’s and family goings-on all while experiencing new cuisines, traditions and life’s ups and downs. At this point it is more mainstream to have a blog than not too. I only think those numbers will grow.Again, I appreciate each and every one of you for your continued support, comments and emails sent my way every day. I enjoy each and every one of them.Since the whole world seems to be posting their Best Of or Top 100 or The Year In Remembrance, I figured I would do the same.So here we go…The following ten entries are the TOP 10 posts for this site in 2008 by my site analytics or really by YOU, the readers. These ten posts have garnered over 1 MILLION HITS (which just amazes the heck out of me) in and of themselves. Curiously, they are all food posts…you people really like to eat! So here we go…and we’ll start with #10….just like David Letterman does k?

#10. my favorite ribs, asian lime ribs, to be require. i make been making these in requital for years and they are my absolute go to rib recipe. i also embody a little ribs 101 chat and my reasons for choosing spareribs over baby backs every time.

#9. my ridiculously addictive lemon squares i have been making for twenty years. i have no idea where the recipe came from and is only scribbled on an old, yellowing in keeping snap of publication. those are always the best recipes right?

#8. in this MO of caramelized chocolate, banana and marshmallow sandwiches i warned you all to get your fat pants unfashionable because you were going to need them after eating this. if you were already wearing your fat pants, you would need to get fatter pants. i must come clean, we made these mould Cimmerian dark notwithstanding unfamiliar year’s eve. they. were. so. good.

#7. this particular record about blue sky potatoes is where i primary proclaimed my serious addiction to the tuberous root vegetable. i also admitted i was a potato ho, which in and of itself took on a resilience of its own. potato ho is now a coined word round the blogosphere w …
