Jerry Jones isn’t concerned about the Cowboys’ mental toughness

JerEag.jpgThere is a perception that the Cowboys are a soft team, following the lead of their head coach. This utter failure in Philadelphia only adds fuel to that fire.

There isn’t a player on the roster who has won a postseason game as a Cowboy. This team fades in December on an annual basis, a trend that continued when the Cowboys went 1-3 this month.

The Cowboys, who were crowned NFC favorites in the preseason, needed to win one of the last two games to make the playoffs. They failed in spectacular fashion, giving up 77- and 82-yard touchdown runs to seal a loss to the Ravens in the Texas Stadium finale and getting their butts kicked all over Lincoln Financial Field in the season finale.

But Jerry dismissed the theory that the Cowboys lack the intangibles to be a championship team.

“I saw this team come back in some pretty trying situations this year,” Jerry said. “That showed good mental toughness. I don’t know. I would point to turnovers, I would point to missed tackles, I would point to things like that before I would mental toughness. I would look for technical things.”
