C-G girls rally past B-R behind Ryan’s stellar effort

Only three Canisteo-Greenwood players scored Saturday afternoon, but the Lady Redskins still came away with a double-digit victory behind another big game from Raegan Ryan. The sophomore guard scored 29 points as Canisteo-Greenwood (4-2) scored the first 11 points of the third quarter to rally for a 44-31 win over Bolivar-Richburg (3-5). The Lady Wolverines led 23-20 at halftime, but C-G came out in the second half and its defense tightened up, allowing only eight points over the final two quarters. “Ryan was definitely the difference in the game,”?said B-R coach Tom Wight. “We chased her all over and she still found a way to score. “Canisteo put the pressure on defense in the second half and took us out of any offense,”?added Wight. Morgan York had 10 points for C-G, which is in Addison 7:15 p.m. Wednesda. John McKibben led C-G with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Bryce Davis had 10 points, including three of the Redskins’ six three-pointers, in the loss. Kyle Ingalls added 13 points and Shawn Mergler grabbed six boards for Bolivar-Richburg (3-5), which plays in Scio 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.
