It happens where humans are turned into “the enemy”. But the main lesson is that if you give ignorant and arrogant people lots of power, they can end up destroying human life to an incomprehensibly evil degree. Even so, that entails brainwashing a lot of other people to think murder is ok in a particular circumstance.
This kind of thing makes me think that anarchists are an anomalous movement in human history, as it appears the majority are content to abuse power or be led by fools to commit some terrible evil. I’m probably in a slightly pessimistic mood.
