‘Dinette Set’ cartoonist will sign books

Julie Larson, author of “The Dinette Set,” will mark her 20th anniversary of drawing cartoons with a book signing in Peoria.
Larson, who lives in Lincoln, will appear at Lakeview Branch Library, 1137 W. Lake, at 7 p.m. Dec. 3. She’ll sign copies of her 20th anniversary cartoon collection, “The Penny Gang Down Memory Lane.” The 80-page book will be for sale for $20, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Friends of the Peoria Public Library.
Larson’s first comic strip was called “Suburban Torture.” It originally ran in the viagra kaufen Los Angeles Reader starting in 1989. The comic grew in popularity in newspapers around the country, and in 1996 it was syndicated and renamed “The Dinette Set.”
Larson’s inspiration for the Penny family and their friends came from her years living in a Chicago suburb.
“The Dinette Set” appears daily in the Journal Star.
Refreshments will be served, and the viagra event is free and open to the public.
