Bad enough to be assaulted by all of those jarring visual interruptions and animations at the bottom of the screen promoting other shows.
VH1 has made matters worse by adding audio — audio even more jarring as the visuals. Imagine you’re watching, say, “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew,” and there’s some tense scene of personal revelation.
All of a sudden somebody screams.
Not anybody involved with the TV show. It’s from the promo bug for “Scream Queens,” the bad exploitive reality series about finding the right actress for “Saw VI.” Not only do they give up a substantial corner of the screen to pimp the new episode, now they’re drowning out the dialog of the show with these jolting screams, several times each episode.
It’s beyond annoying. Not only do you vow not to watch “Scream Queens,” you’re not long for “Dr. Drew” any more either (even if he wears an Amherst cap).
